Augusta Single Cylinder Keyed Entry Handleset from the Welcome Home Series with Kwikset SmartKey Cylinder

Augusta Handleset with a Single Cylinder Keyed Entry Deadbolt. The latch bolt is operated by a thumb piece on the exterior handleset and knob/lever on the interior (depending on which interior pack you select). The Single Cylinder Deadbolt is operated by a key from the exterior and a thumb turn on the interior. The Single Cylinder deadbolt is also a SmartKey 5-PIN Deadbolt. The SmartKey feature is a technological innovation that provides superior security. It also provides you the flexibility of re-keying your own locks quickly and easily without removing them from your door.

First time to install a lock I need to replace the handle set for my double front door. After doing a lot of research in this web site, only Weiser lock will fit my old double door. Here is the key requirements: - Double door need a dummy set - Center to center is 3.5" I have not much choices after these 2 conditions. This lock just barely fit 3.5'' center to cneter. The lock come with a general installation instuction that NOT for this lock, so you need to adjust it. However, I manage to install it and I am happy with the result at the end. September 4, 2010

Can this lock be fitted to my old Weiser key? I heard Kwikset bought Weiser and that new Weiser locks cannot be keyed to old Weiser keys.

A. The Weiser Lock GA9771A-S is made with the new Kwikset SmartKey Keyway. This will not work with older style Weiser Lock keyways. Weiser Lock did find a large enough demand for the older style Weiser Lock keyways and have continued proudction. The model numbers by Weiser Lock that end with "-S" are the Kwisket SmartKey versions. For this model in the older Weiser Lock keyway you would need the GA9771A (without the "-S" at the end).
